Dr. Kristin Miller
General Dentist
Dr. Kristin Miller considers herself a Midwesterner even though she has lived and worked all over the world. She grew up an “army brat” and then served four years in the U.S. Army after graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2001. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management and Asian Studies, and after serving in the military, decided to pursue a dental career, attending the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry, graduating in 2011 before settling in North Carolina.
Dr. Miller’s interest in the dental profession was initially piqued by the ability to serve and educate underserved populations that lack access to adequate dental care. She started her dental career in North Wilkesboro, treating adults and adolescents in a public health clinic setting for almost 7 years. It was in the public health setting that she found her true calling treating children and adolescents. She then transitioned to a private practice setting, and has continued her passion in educating young patients of all abilities how to care for their teeth for a lifetime. She believes good oral health begins at a very young age, and enjoys making the dental office a welcoming place for all her young patients. Her love of teaching has also inspired her to become part time faculty at the Central Piedmont Community College Dental Hygiene and Assisting schools.
Dr. Miller is an active member of the American Dental Association and a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. She is very involved in organized dentistry at the national, state and local levels. She served in a variety of officer roles supporting the North Carolina Dental Society Districts 1 and 2 and was awarded the Outstanding New Dentist award in 2018. She is currently an ADA Delegate for 16 District representing North Carolina.
Dr. Miller participates in numerous dental outreach opportunities both in her local community and across North Carolina such as the NCDS Missions of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, Team Smile, Sandy Ridge Baptist Dental Bus, and the Foothills Veteran’s Standdowns. Her hobbies include USTA tennis, reading, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
